Herb Alpert
Shot on the A&M Records lot in Los Angeles for a music
magazine. Having been the A&M photographer in New York for many years
and having shot the cover of the biggest selling album in the label's history,
"Frampton Comes Alive," I knew Herb (who co-founded A&M) quite well. I was shooting him with a wide lens and keeping him in the left side of frame; he wanted to know what I was shooting since the lens was not pointed at him.
